On Thursday 25th March, The Mayor of Stockport, Cllr. Dean Fitzpatrick and his chosen charity of the year, Beacon Counselling, held the Stockport Business Quiz 2021, in aid of mental health.
Hosted by High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Eamonn O’Neal, the fundraiser has raised over £1,000 in support of the Mayor’s charity.
Liam Finnigan, Operations Manager said “It was such a fun night with such great vibes. We were runner up by a point – with Music Magpie coming first and yet incredibly, the magpies ended up gifting their own first place prize, an ipad mini, to our work – which we are incredibly grateful for- it will certainly come in use with our youth projects.”
Fundraiser, Joanne Watson said “An incredible effort from all. We thank all those that took part, including the donors of the evening who offered prize and auction items – we couldn’t have done this without you.
The Mayor of Stockport, Cllr Dean Fitzpatrick said ‘It was such a pleasure to part of this and we are so pleased that we have raised funds for such an essential cause in Stockport. As Mayor of Stockport, I aim to raise £30,000 to support Beacon Counselling through these extremely challenging times so that Beacon can continue to provide fundamental support to Stockport residents –but this hasn’t been without its challenges.
