One to one counselling
My confidence in dealing with situations has improved a lot
Counselling can help you to deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional pain or making you feel uncomfortable or sad.
Counselling is a talking therapy that provides a regular space for you to talk about difficult feelings. Our counsellors listen, respect your views, they never judge. Counselling can also help you sort out your needs and priorities, and help you to accept things that cannot be changed, enabling you to make decisions and find more effective ways of coping.
Our counsellors won’t usually give advice, instead they will help you find your own insights into and understanding of your problems.
“HOW WE CAN HELP”
Our counsellors can help you:
- deal with low mood or feelings of depression
- deal with feelings of anxiety, helping you worry less about things
- cope with a bereavement, loss or relationship breakdown
- cope work-related stress including redundancy
- work through the problems associated with domestic violence or talk about abuse
- feel more confident and address low self-esteem
- manage strong emotions or anger
- understand yourself and your problems better
With help and support, these feelings and symptoms can be managed, guiding you to a successful recovery.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
After getting in touch with Beacon, one of our appointments team will be in touch with a suggested time for your initial assessment.
In this first appointment, a counsellor will meet with you, and work out whether counselling is right for you and what you would like to get out of counselling.
If counselling is right for you, following this appointment you will be matched with a counsellor and offered an appointment.
How much does it cost?
Adults: We have a number of service options within our core service and your counsellor will be able to advise you on the best counselling service for you. Some funded programmes are free of charge, whilst for others we request a donation. We ask for whatever you can reasonably afford.
Under 18s: If you or a loved one would benefit from counselling and they are under 18, at this moment we can only offer you a private practice appointment.
